Spring has Sprung. Welcome Equinox! And we all know that Spring is for Cleaning. If you’re anything like me, you are feeling the urge to clean your garage, clean your car, your closets, your drawers, and your yard (once it’s unburied from the snow).
How about Spring cleaning your liver, your habits, your mind, and your microbiome? (If you don’t know what that is then you definitely need to consider this invitation.)
According to Ayurvedic principles, your body needs to be cleansed and tuned up every Spring and Fall – at least! A seasonal cleanse is an easy way to buffer your health and protect your well-being for the coming months and beyond.
I’ve been consistently practicing internal Spring and Fall cleanses for years now and I find it to be the key to maintaining my healthy eating habits. my lean body weight, and my super-powered energy. At 60, I feel James Brown’s song streaming through my soul…
whoa, I feeeeel good – na-na-na-na-na-na-na – like I know that I should now – na-na-na-na-na-na-na. (you can wiggle your hips a bit as you sing along with me!)
Of course, like most humans, I fall out of synch at times. Such as experiencing winter’s comfort food flab or summer’s cerveza pudge. Therefore, I am always a willing participant in my personal reset program - a 40-day Ayurvedic 'Qualitarian' Transformation back to clear, clean, and content with how I feel, how I treat myself, and how I perform. Does this sound like something you could use right about now?
"Eating is perhaps the single most important act for one's yoga practice because nourishment of the body's tissues forms a foundation for nourishment of the mind and emotions.”
-Dr. Scott Blossom
